The so called Skirmish mode is not skirmish in any traditional RTS sense, and does not allow you to jump into dynamic battles on various maps in a way you would expect, but rather plays out as a campaign. It is basically 'select this squad throw them into battle. Assault Squad 2 is just more of the same from Assault Squad 1. Scavenging weapons and creating havoc on the battle field. I much prefer the small squad missions where you have to keep the single group of 10 men or less alive for the duration of the mission or campaign. I started with Soldiers, Heroes of World War 2.
